Kristal ~ Pregnancy Portraits

Yesterday I spent a glorious winters afternoon photographing Kristal. Kristal is due to have her second baby in about 6 weeks. There’s a few locations that I’ve be keen to shoot at so we travelled around a bit and we were lucky enough to find some glorious light.

It’s always fun for me when you a have someone in front of your camera who is funny, confident and beautiful inside and out, plus they are willing to let you take them anywhere for photos!! Thank you Kristal.

Family Time | Lismore Lantern Parade

Yesterday Anthony, I, my girls and my niece made the trek to Lismore to see the annual Lismore Lantern Parade. During the quiet part of the year (in terms of weddings) I really try to spend some quality time with my girls to hopefully make up for the many weekends I am working the rest of the year.

I also really wanted to spend some time practicing some of my night photography skills and what better way than at a Lantern Parade. In order to challenge myself further (and also for the mere fact I didn’t want to carry my entire photography kit) . I picked my camera body (Canon 5D for those who are interested), my flash (my flash Canon 580ex-really should learn how to use that thing better) and then I did something really wild. I shut my eyes, put my hand in my bag a pulled out a random lens. Seriously. I am that wild! I ended up taking the 50mm 1.2. Yay! I love that lens!

To start with, we have the Cast of Characters….and I mean characters!

The dinosaurs from Erth made an appearance. I’ve seen these guys a few times and that are so talented!

Looking for Autumn leaves….

Reading my friend Karissa from Image Photography’s blog lately and I’ve been just a little envious of all the beautiful Autumn leaves she’s been photographing in and around Tamworth and Armidale. Since we don’t have many of those lovely trees in Yamba I used the opportunity of being in Graftons See Park today to grab some quick photos of my girls.

Most of the leaves had lost their gorgeous colour, but we managed to find a few nice golden ones. It was an impromptu shoot so the girls are styled in whatever they found clean this morning!

The Bebb Family | A fun portrait session

Photographing this lovely family was so much fun! With four children under 5, two being twins, I knew I was in for an adventure. As the family was holidaying in Iluka we decided that the best spot to go to was the local park which is close by the Clarence River. We swung on swings, climbed in trees, paddled our feet, had running races…all good fun!

When I saw this, I just knew there was going to be trouble!

After all the action, I got a chance to grab a quick shot of mum and dad!

Beautiful Lilly | Baby Portraits

Meet 7 month old Lilly. I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing little Lilly earlier this month. She has just the most beautiful eyes, don’t you think? And quick! My gosh, she was crawling and had just started standing, so I definitely had my skates on for this session! Her family has only recently moved to Yamba, so I am very happy to help them decorate the walls of their new home!

Hanging out with baby Alex | newborn portraits

Alex was 6 weeks old when I photographed him and his lovely parents. This very adorable baby belongs to proud parents Amee and Wayne who are obviously so proud of their little man. I am so happy for you both and feel very privileged to photograph your family.

Oliver | Newborn Portraits

Before I get to showing you the photos of adorable little Oliver, I just want to apologise for absolutely no blog post last week. I am so sorry that I did not blog. Being a blog stalker myself, I know how it feels when I like to read someones blog and then they disappear without any notice or whatever. I really appreciate everyone who stops by for a look.

Please, don’t worry. I will be back on track very soon. It’s just that i have been super busy lately and well, life has gotten in the way of my blog. I’m also very sorry for my slow reply to emails this week.

I am always excited to photograph a baby! This little bub is part of a beautiful family I photographed late last year. You can see his adorable sisters here. Oliver is going to grow up in a loving and vibrant home. Lucky, lucky boy!

Some gorgeous sun and gorgeous girls | Family Portraits

You may remember these girls from a previous post of mine (if you don’t you can view it here). It was the session where we had lightning, thunder and some amazing storm clouds rolling around. So different to what I envisioned our session would be!

I mentioned to Candice that I would love to photograph her family again, just for fun! So we picked a day and decided to go with it. And then we crossed our fingers for some sunlight.

Thankfully on the day of our second session the sun shone brightly and the light filtered through the trees surrounding Kolora Lake, Yamba deliciously.

The girls were as gorgeous as ever; sweet and kind and gentle hearted.

Evie and Saoirse | fun childrens portraits

I photographed these little cherubs way back in January and they absolutely stole my heart. Within an hour and a half of knowing them I wanted to take them home. I love little girls with confidence and full spirits and they definitely had both!

We took the photos down at Spooky Beach, Angourie. It was a bit overcast and windy, but we made the most of it! Here are some of my favourites from our session:

Vendor Spotlight- Endessas’ Beauty Spot

One thing I’ve learned is that ALL brides are beautiful on their wedding day. There’s nothing more flattering than the look of true love! No matter how low-maintenance you may be, though,you should still consider hiring a professional makeup artist to help you look your absolute best on the big day. Experienced makeup people know just how to emphasize your very best features so you’re ready for your close up at picture time!

I’m always rapt when my brides tell me they’ve chosen Edessa to do their makeup. I’ve photographed brides wearing make up by Endessa for 3 years now and I know she always does a fantastic job and the makeup photographs flawlessly. Apart from gracing North Coast brides with her fantastic make up, Endessa has worked at Fashion Shows as part of makeup artist Rae Morris‘ team.

Yesterday, I visited Endessas’ Beauty Spot for a quick photo shoot of some work she was doing. It’s fun for me to get out and do something out of the ordinary!
