Katrina and Shaun have been living in Western Australia  so all of our chatting has been over the Internet. I finally met them a couple of days before their wedding and it felt like I already knew them. Katrina was just buzzing and  so excited to be marrying Shaun and that sort of excitement is contagious. While we chatted about her photos, Katrina mentioned that all of her chosen locations had a lot of significance to her. Katrina grew up surrounded by sugar cane and farms, the sugar cane she chose as her backdrop belongs to her grandfather and will probably be the last crop he farms. The river and jetty are areas Katrina used to hang out at as a child and the veranda belonged to her Auntie Joanie. I hope I did her locations justice.

Whilst out on location a fairly severe storm was brewing in the background. Fancying myself as a bit of a storm chaser as well as a wedding photographer, I was in heaven with amazing clouds and storm front coming in. What better to do than place Katrina and Shaun right in front of it!

Whilst Katrina and Shaun held their ceremony at the stunning  Sannas Garden, continuing on to the reception which was held at the Yamba Shores Tavern.

Tara and Shane’s wedding was so special to be involved in. Seeing Tara as she emerged dressed in her gown was nothing short of amazing! Tara had started planning her wedding quite some time before I met them and it was just beautiful to see it all come almost flawlessly. Yes, that’s right, almost.

Tara and Shane’s son Ryley fell ill the day before their wedding and the poor little love was really feeling under the weather. He was such a good little fellow, even though all he wanted was just to be looked after by his mummy and daddy, we still managed to get him in a few photos.

Their ceremony was held in the beautiful gardens owned by Gina Sanna in Palmers Island. They said their heartfelt vows in front of a backdrop of luscious palms with their closest family and friends present.The party continued on at the the reception which was held at the Yamba Golf Club.

Surrounded by a fabulous bridal party, family and friends, they wed in the gorgeous gardens belonging to Mrs Sanna. The sun was out, not a cloud in the sky and butterflies fluttered around the many Spring flowers that blossomed in time for Ben and Amy’s day. Amy radiated happiness and warmth and she walked down the aisle accompanied by her dad and Ben only had eyes for her.

The ceremony was officiated by the lovely celebrant Dawn Shepherd. I do’s were exchanged and together forever was sealed with a kiss. We celebrated Ben and Amy’s first hour as husband and wife with photos around Chatsworth Island and their property at Mororo. As much as I love the beach and the ocean back drop that Yamba provides, it was a lovely change to shoot amongst textured sheds, macadamia rows and burnt out logs.

The celebrations had begun in the Bangalow Room of the Angourie Rainforest Resort when Amy and Ben made their grand entrance. The room was a picture of style and class and guests we relaxed and enjoying the company of friends. I’m sure a wonderful night was had.

My friend and previous photography assistant Jess, married her man is a sensational country wedding in Lawrence on the weekend. For all the unpaid hours, bag carrying, support and laughing at jokes she has heard me repeat many times, the best gift I could give her was to shoot her wedding. Many many congratulations Jess and Angus!!

Istarted my day with the girls about an hour before the ceremony started. They were dressing at the Moby Dick Motel Yamba and we all organised and ready for photos when I arrived. Brooke and Bruce have a gorgeous little bub and she looked as cute a a button in her wedding clothes!

The Yamba Shores Tavern Deck was perfect for the ceremony and the restaurant looked amazing.

I always say that weddings bring their own magic and there is always a chance to take amazing photos, whatever the weather brings us. What we were blessed with was soft muted light from overcast skies. I couldn’t have been happier. After the ceremony we spent some time taking photos around the Yamba Lighthouse and the Turners Beach rocks.

I hope you are having a fantastic honeymoon in Fiji, it was great to be a part of your wedding day and I hope you love your photos!

I knew Rebecca would be a gorgeous bride from the minute I met her at the Yamba Bridal Expo last year. When I arrived at Rebecca’s house she looked just perfect! Daniel is just so lovely. During their wedding day if I wanted him to smile, I asked him to look at Rebecca. His smile reached his eyes and then went further.

The light was just magic as I was taking photos and I was getting so excited!  I guess I am what you would call an energetic photographer. I have way more fun than I probably should! I wish my brides and grooms didn’t have to go to their receptions.

Rebecca and Dan absolutely trusted me with their photographs and were up for anything I suggested. I hope that you love them!

The ceremony was held in Sannas gardens, Palmers Island and they are incredible. Every time I go there I am in awe. You see, I have one plant, it requires watering once per month. And even then I sometimes forget.

Gina is so passionate about her garden and her love for it shows in every corner. I was talking with Gina today and she can’t wait until she can just concentrate on her garden. I told her she could do that when she retires! She thinks she better get a wriggle on because she’s….been 21 a few times!

I have to admit I had a small giggle during the ceremony as my friend and celebrant Christine Preston held the bouquet for Rebecca. She looked like the bridesmaid!
