Yesterday I spent a glorious winters afternoon photographing Kristal. Kristal is due to have her second baby in about 6 weeks. There’s a few locations that I’ve be keen to shoot at so we travelled around a bit and we were lucky enough to find some glorious light.

It’s always fun for me when you a have someone in front of your camera who is funny, confident and beautiful inside and out, plus they are willing to let you take them anywhere for photos!! Thank you Kristal.

Christine Preston and Dawn Shepherd-Marriage Celebrants

I think I have known Christine Preston for like, forever, and Dawn Shepherd well, it feels like forever, but in a good way. Chris and Dawn and both great friends and amazing marriage celebrants. I adore working with them because they share my love and passion for weddings and I know that they will do anything to make their brides and grooms wedding day fabulous.

Yesterday we took the time to have coffee and lemon meringue pie together, oh, yes, and shoot a few photographs afterwards.

And Chris loves her handbags. She introduced me to Spencer and Rutherford. I now own one of their very lovely handbags.

Brooke and Bruce | wedding preview

Brooke and Bruce were married on Saturday in a ceremony on the deck of the Yamba Shores Tavern. A cool wind blew and the beautiful Clarence River flowed gently past as they exchanged their vows in front of family and friends. A full blog post to follow later this week.

Mel and Troy | wedding

Mel and Troy were married on Saturday in a beautiful ceremony on Clarkes Beach, Byron Bay.

My first memories of Mel are going to preschool together in the the back of my Dads Suzuki. It was a while ago! Need less to say, it was an absolute joy to be Mel and Troys photographer. Thank you both so much!

Have a great honeymoon and I’ll look forward to catching up when you get back.

steven and teneal | a first look

Steven and Teneal decided to have a First Look before their wedding ceremony yesterday. A First Look is becoming more and more popular. All the cool bride and groom’s are doing it!

What is a First Look? Well, the bride and groom get ready separately, just like ‘normal’, then when both are dressed and ready we take the groom to a great place with awesome light and get ready to shoot away. The bride is sent in and then the groom turns to see her.It’s just as special as seeing each other as you walk down the aisle, but so much more intimate, a moment just for you both. It may be the only time you get to be alone on your wedding day, to just focus on each other and appreciate the commitment you are about to make to each other.

Why would you have a First Look? It tends to lead to a smoother layout of your wedding day-your ceremony, family photos and going to your reception and greeting your guests all follow each other seamlessly. And c’mon-who doesn’t want to get to their party!

There will be more photos to come. Being in the midst of 8 weddings in 8 weeks, the blogging has slowed a bit. I’ll catch up with it all later, but right now I need to put my wonderful brides and grooms first!!

sarah and craig | wedding preview

Sarah and Craig were married on Saturday in a lovely, and very personal ceremony. I felt so privileged to be a part of their amazing day. I’m itching to blog sooo many of their photos, but I will be patient and wait until they have had a chance to look at them first!! Here’s a quick sneak preview of what is to come:

I know that this photo is not ‘technically’ perfect, but I love the feel of it! We were just heading up Main Beach Hill, I was in the front loaded down with lenses, camera and bags, when I just picked up my camera, pointed it and shot!! And this is what we got!
