Kristal ~ Pregnancy Portraits

Yesterday I spent a glorious winters afternoon photographing Kristal. Kristal is due to have her second baby in about 6 weeks. There’s a few locations that I’ve be keen to shoot at so we travelled around a bit and we were lucky enough to find some glorious light.

It’s always fun for me when you a have someone in front of your camera who is funny, confident and beautiful inside and out, plus they are willing to let you take them anywhere for photos!! Thank you Kristal.

Candice | maternity portraits

I was really, really looking forward to photographing Candice and her gorgeous girls, I had visions of them running in the grass, sunlight glinting off their long, the Pacific Ocean glimmering in the background….but on the day of their photo shoot, this is what God had planned for us, serious!

I guess it was a ‘no’ for sunshine!

With thunder rumbling in the back ground and distant lighting flashes we decided to go ahead with our shoot for as long as we could (and was safe). I just didn’t want to postpone as knowing my luck Candice may have gone into labour then there would be no chance for a maternity session! And besides, how often do you get the chance to have a back drop like this!

Mel and Adam | Maternity Portraits

I’m sure I’ve said this before, but one of the best things about being a wedding and portrait photographer is being a part of peoples lives, and having the privilege of photographing the special moments in their lives.

Mel and Adam were first in front of my camera for their engagement shoot, then for their wedding on 13 October 2007. Now, they’re having a baby!!! Woo hoo.

Melissa and Adam are a natural in front of the camera and an absolute pleasure to photograph.

Plus, like me, they will do anything for a good photo!

I even got to feel the baby kick me!! We’re friends already!

So excited to meet you little one. You couldn’t have chosen better parents.

I hope that the hat I bought you arrives before you do, I can’t wait to see you work it baby!

kerri | pregnancy

The girls of our family went out together this morning to shoot some final portraits of Kerri before the baby comes. She has only got three more sleeps to go (well, I am sleeping, don’t know how well she is!).

Here is one of my favourite’s from this morning session (the one that just about gave my mum a heart attack as Kerri was balanced on a not-so-wide- concrete wall!)

There will be more to come later, but I have to start getting prepared for this afternoons photo shoot-I’m between session right now!

sara & ben | pregnancy

I had a very enjoyable afternoon last Saturday when I shot Sara and Ben’s pregnancy photos. Sara and Ben have recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary and are now eagerly awaiting the birth of their first child. We headed out to Brooms Head for our session. First up we stopped by the Brooms Head lookout where it was blowing a gale, but there was such nice warm light coming through there that I couldn’t let a bit of wind bother us.

Then we headed down to the beach where it was a lot warmer and no wind!! Yay!!
